In 2006, I interned at the American Quarter Horse Association in Amarillo, Texas. It was the greatest summer of my life and much of what I learned from that experience I still use today. After I became a freelance writer last year, my former mentors at AQHA approached me to write some articles for them. I was thrilled to join their team and contribute to one of my favorite horse magazines. Here is the first of six articles I have scheduled with The American Quarter Horse Journal.
